Goodbye ColourArte and Thank You

Yesterday marked my last post as a member of the ColourArte DT as my term was up. They have kept me busy for the last nine months playing with their fab products! I think the Primary Elements and Silks are my favourites.

To mark the occasion I thought I'd share some of my posts over the last nine months with you. Each has a link to my tutorial on the ColourArte blog if you'd like to know more.

Lastly a big thank you to Leslie, the owner of ColourArte, for having me on the team. I hope I've been a worthy ambassador.

Phew that was a lot of photos! Thanks for popping along today.

Mixed Media Panel for ColourArte

My turn to do a tutorial for you on the ColourArte blog today. I've been inspired by Marta Lapcowska to create some 'small art' using chipboard pieces. It's coloured using Silks over black gesso - the black surface makes the iridescent colours I chose really stand out! Continuing my mission to expand my colour use, I went with purple which I never, ever use! I think it turned out OK!

That lovely stamp is from a new set at Rubber Dance Art Stamps called Fly with me, by the way. She's rather lovely I think!

Hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Journal page for ColourArte

Yep my turn again! Stepped out tutorial over on the ColourArte blog today - I used yummy Radiant Rain sprays this time. Told you I was stepping away from my blue comfort zone this year - you proud of me???

I know some people like to know, so that BIG stamp is Donna Downey - it's foam and she did a few of them but sadly no more (I wish someone would do more big giant stamps like this!). The words are from a really sweet quote set by Crescendoh.

UTEE Pendant for ColourArte

It's my turn at ColourArte today and as always there's a step-by-step tutorial to guide you. This week, I've created a pretty pendant from an upcycled domino, using Primary Elements combined with UTEE.

I've also been trying to get to grips with video creation this week and here are the results - a film of me making the above. It's a bit rough around the edges but you have to start somewhere, right?

Hope you enjoy it!

A Little Bit of Layout Love

Oh my, it's been a while since I did any scrapbooking! But I do go to a crop once a month (hello Moxley mates!) and I thought it was about time that I used that time for the allotted purpose! I created two layouts in a day - which for me is pretty good going. I am not the world's fastest crafter!

My first layout is a romantic wedding layout. I used some very old papers by BoBunny called The Avenues. This is a simple LO but has lots of layers. Firstly, spray ink flicked onto the paper, then texture pasted stencilled and highlighted with ColourArte Silk Glaze in Golden Monarch. Then I added torn paper and corrugated card (the card also has a swipe of the Silk colour), various fussy cut elements, twine and trim and brads. The last layer has the photo and some flowers. My word is painted with the Silks again to tie it into the page. I love the subtle colour and sheen of the Silks - goes well with my romantic feel.

In contrast my second layout is much more contemporary in feel. Again I used spray inks (Distress brand), creating the background by applying the inks loosely with a wide brush. Once dry I added a load of splatters (fun!!!). Colours are Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough. The stamps (pilfered from my fellow Moxley-er's - as I had not packed any. WHAT???) are Hampton Art and IndigoBlu. Then I just layered up some die cuts, tags and elements cut from paper.

This is the first layout I've done of our new fur baby, Jet. He is very smiley :).

I enjoyed this change of scene and hope you do too :)

I made the ColourArte Design Team!!!!!!!!!!

Yes folks - it's true - pinch me! I made the incredible ColourArte Design Team much to my surprise and delight. I've known a little while but was sworn to total secrecy - boy has that been a hard secret to keep!

Here's the piece that I did as my entry for the callout - you can see the full step-out here.

I start my term in September and I cannot wait to start working more with ColourArte's gorgeous products (if they are not a brand you know take a look at their website and prepare to drool....).

I am among some very talented company on this team (no pressure then!) - you can meet the rest of the team over on the ColourArte blog today.

***HAPPY DANCE***
